Home grown in Tuscaloosa, AL, it was a dream come true to play baseball at The University of Alabama! I was blessed enough to be a 2-year letter winner at Bama, then I stayed at the capstone for 3 more years as an assistant strength coach. It was then, that I was able to obtain my master degree in Human Performance, get certified by both "gold standards" in S&C, and work with every sport at Alabama in the area of strength training.
After my tenure at Alabama, I worked as a strength coach with the Atlanta Braves for two seasons. The second year I worked my way into a Strength and Conditioning Coordinator role with the Bravos.
I then landed a job at Champion Sports Medicine here in Birmingham, AL, as the Director of Athletic Performance where I stayed for 5+ years. I developed relationships with some of the best therapists in the country, and world renowned doctors at Andrews Sports Medicine Clinic.
It is such a blessing to be able to say that here at Tinsley Performance we are currently working with well over 500 athletes ranging from 7yrs old to Professional athletes! We currently have contracts with over 15 teams throughout the southeast, and we have been fortunate enough to work with many college and professional athletes across the MLB, NFL, and PGA!
We're proud to say that we work with some really high caliber professional athletes who have combined to earn over +$150 Million in contract values over their careers on the field!
This is hands down, the best place to train in the State of Alabama if not, the Southeast. And we are gaining traction across the country as one of the Nation's Best places to train!

Grant lived in the northwest suburbs of Chicago his entire life. After spending two years at school in Eastern Tennessee, he knew that he eventually wanted to move south! During his downtime, he enjoys hanging out with his wife and friends, good food, hiking, reading, watching collegiate baseball (better than MLB!) and finding creative ways to train.
After high school, Grant decided it was in his best interest to take the junior college route. He spent his freshman season at Waubonsee Community College where Grant was named 2nd team All-Conference in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference. Due to some coaching changes, he transferred to Oakton Community College during the Covid shortened season. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology while also continuing his last two years of college baseball at Bryan College in Dayton, TN. Grant's junior season he was awarded Appalachian Athletic Conference player of the week. A historic run during his senior season put the team two wins away from the NAIA world series for the first time in Bryan College baseball history.
"Throughout my career as a baseball player, I never possessed raw talent abilities. As a result, I learned very quickly the importance of hard-work in order to consistently find myself in the lineup. During my collegiate career, I fell in love with the weightroom for a variety of reasons. Like many strength & conditioning coaches, the preparation component of becoming an elite athlete always intrigued me more than the physical game itself. After college, I was blessed to be able to work with a variety of athletes and continue to fine-tune the art within coaching. While I enjoy watching athletes achieve success both on and off the field, there is nothing greater to me than building meaningful relationships with those who have entrusted me with their development. My greatest mission is to strive to represent the love and grace of Jesus in hopes that it can have as radical of an impact on others as it has for me."

Austin grew up in Vernon, Alabama. He was a three sport athlete at Lamar County High School. Austin graduated in 2016 with offers to play at the collegiate level for baseball. He enjoys golfing, lifting weights, and coaching his travel ball team in his free time.
After high school, Austin attended Lawson State Community College where he played for two seasons. Austin loved the game, but was plagued with injuries which kept him from playing the game he loved.
After his baseball career, Austin attended Highlands College to pursue a degree in Ministry Leadership.
His previous injuries that sidelined his playing career, and his drive to make an eternal impact have shaped his training philosophy into a well-rounded coach. Austin has a passion to keep athletes on the field of play through proper movement, but not looking past the grit and determination it takes to get after id day in and day out to dominate your opponent!
"After my playing career, I developed a passion for coaching. My coaching style is centered around my “WHY.” My why is to not only help develop players on the field, but off the field too. My coaching experience has opened a door for me to share Christ with others.
To me, there’s no better feeling than helping an athlete develop into all God created them to be as an athlete and a human being. Because at the end of the day, who we are matters because that’s our legacy we leave behind.."
Brode went to Homewood High School where he was a standout quarterback on the gridiron, and pitcher for the Patriots baseball program.
Brode Susce is a Birmingham native. He started his college career at Shelton State CC in Tuscaloosa, AL. While at Shelton State, he had a large role out of the bullpen. His 2nd year at Shelton was cut short due to Tommy John Surgery. Brode did his rehab with us at TP partnered with Chris Allison. He is currently playing at James Madison University in the Sun Belt Conference. Brode had battled back from three elbow surgeries and plans to graduate and finish his last year of baseball at JMU this coming
I’ve seen and experienced the ups and downs of the fight it takes to chase a dream. Over time, I developed a passion for the process—the preparation, the recovery, and the little details that separate the average from the elite. I know what it’s like to be knocked down, to question everything, and still find a way to come back stronger.. What matters most to me is trust. Effective coaching is all about trust, having both the coach and athlete bought into the program and believing that results will come. It’s about walking alongside players through both setbacks and breakthroughs. My goal is to develop pitchers not just physically, but mentally and emotionally—because that’s where true development happens. .

When I graduated college and moved to Birmingham, having someone to motivate me and keep me working hard was a huge thing for me. Cal was that man to always keep me striving to push myself.
